The Letters
Since there was just too much juicy history to fit into the stage dialogue, I decided to add a collection of letters to the book to tell the rest of the story. I could not find any record of surviving letters from Aloysia to Mozart, so I took the liberty of imagining how they’d have read in English. Most of the events mentioned in the letters really happened, and the dates are accurate, although I can’t be sure which of Mozart’s performances Aloysia might have seen.
