Continuing the idea of bringing a bit of the previous panel onto the next canvas, I contrasted the darker mood of the Larghetto against an opalescent pink background. The edge of the dark shape steps up toward the top of the canvas to illustrate the strident opening to the Scherzo. It definitely seems like this movement has a split personality. One part is scolding, and the other silly. See how the orchids appear to be laughing at a joke? The music, especially during the sillier parts, seemed like it was echoing, so I drew two flowers. And I also drew them closeup so you could see all the funny little spots and twisted tendrils.
